HUTCHESON: The right choice

As a former deputy sheriff with Kootenai County I feel obligated to write and express my concerns to the citizens of Kootenai County.

There are three Republican candidates running for Sheriff. One who is a current employee in the administrative division, one who worked as a deputy for Kootenai County and then was selected as Police Chief of the Coeur d’Alene Tribal Police, and then one other. The current county employee can run the sheriff’s department as the Sheriff, but what changes are going to be made? More deputies have been hired, trained, outfitted and put on the streets of our county only to leave for better jobs across stateline taking our tax dollars with them. Keith Hutcheson is the other candidate for Sheriff. I know Keith and the other candidate personally. I have great respect for both. Keith has the support from current deputies, officers from Cd’A and Post Falls Police Departments and their associations. Keith has the experience and dedication to fulfill the role of Sheriff.

And the other candidate. What I understand about this candidate is concerning. Supports and defends tax law breakers/evaders? Says he has many years of law enforcement experience? This candidate has not worn a badge since the mid-80s (never promoted above sergeant), is currently practicing law and was also questioned about unethical conduct in a Texas courtroom? A candidate who defends the presumed guilty rather than upholding the law? Support and vote for Keith Hutcheson!
