HENDERSON: A proven record
Jack Schroeder is running for State Representative in District 3, Seat B. He mailed out a flyer recently stating, “Representative Frank Henderson has run unopposed in the last few elections and it’s time for a change.” What Mr. Schroeder doesn’t understand is that Representative Frank Henderson is above reproach in representing his district. Representative Henderson has the experience and works very hard to represent his constituents. Representative Henderson is always glad to speak to people about their concerns or questions whether it deals with state issues or local city or county issues. (Representative Henderson has served as Post Falls Mayor in the past and also has served as a County Commissioner.) Maybe Representative Henderson has run unopposed in the past because people are satisfied that he is doing a great job! Representative Henderson has ideas for attracting business to Idaho to help people get jobs.
Jack Schroeder wants to repeal the sales tax in Idaho. If that was done, property taxes would greatly increase, putting the full burden of running government only on property owners. I personally think it’s good to share this burden with those that are not property owners. Even the tourists must contribute. The city of Post Falls receives eight percent of the total sales tax money and Kootenai County receives eleven percent of the total sales tax money. If this money were not available to the city and the county they would have to make up for it some way. No one likes to pay taxes, but the taxes help the government provide needed services such as police protection, roads maintenance and other necessary services. These services are not free.
I plan to vote for Representative Frank Henderson in the upcoming election. I hope you will vote for Representative Henderson also.
