GREEN: Would protect our rights
On May 15, we will vote for a new Sheriff and two commissioners. Who we choose for these offices will have a direct impact on all of us. If we choose wisely, that impact will be positive. If we do not, the impact could be very negative.
The most important choice we have is for Sheriff. The job of sheriff goes beyond public safety. It is to protect our life, liberty, and property. John Green is the best candidate for this job. He has the experience; 10 years as a peace officer, 7 years as a law enforcement educator, and 19 years practicing law. More importantly, John Green is the only candidate that fully grasps the duty of the county Sheriff to protect our rights, whether the threat comes from a common criminal or a federal agency in violation of the Constitution. Sheriff Green will not allow overzealous federal bureaucrats to violate our constitutional rights.
For Commissioner, Marc Eberlein is challenging the incumbent in district 1. Marc is not a politician and never sought office before. He is a strong proponent of property rights, and will work to stop outside influences on local land use decisions. He believes offices that are currently elected should continue to be elected, not appointed. In district 3 Larry Spencer will also defend our property rights and our right to elect county officials. He’s been described as a ‘pot stirrer’ and that’s exactly what we need.
Do your own due diligence and don’t rely on rumors in evaluating these candidates and their opponents. A vote based on rumors and “what you heard” rather than facts is truly a wasted vote.
