GREEN: A hard worker and leader

| May 8, 2012 9:15 PM

Several years ago I had the privilege and honor of participating in the election process as a candidate. It was during this time that I became acquainted with Dan Green. I found him to be very knowledgeable of the local issues and not timid in sharing his views! In fact, that is what I like best about him: you know where he stands on the issues.

Beside his transparency (2012 buzz word), I found him to be a good listener and willing to listen to opposing views. He has that rare gift that most politicians don’t have: the ability to disagree without being disagreeable. He respects your point of view even if he isn’t in agreement. We had many discussions regarding issues affecting the welfare of our state and county and many of us were so impressed with Dan Green at that time we elected him to his first term as Kootenai County commissioner.

Why is that important? It’s important because he still has those characteristics as a county commissioner. He has kept his campaign promises, consistently worked toward an efficient and effective county government, and has a track record of making informed and thoughtful decisions, even if they aren’t always popular.

I appreciate the integrity and work ethic of Commissioner Green and plan to support his reelection. He deserves to continue in this leadership role. I hope you will join me in supporting this outstanding political leader.
