VICK: More than a great coach

I would like to make it clear that what is said below has in NO WAY been persuaded by the man I am referring to. This man I’m referring to is Steve Vick. He was my Basketball Coach just a few years ago during my sophomore, junior and senior years, and during that time he taught me much more about growing up as a man than actually basketball. And since I know him from a player stand-point it’s safe to say that I’ve seen him in the best and worst of moments.

It’s said that the eyes and ears are the doorways to the soul of person, but what truly measures a man are the words of his mouth and acts of his hands. I respect this man so much as a true mentor of mine that it can’t be expressed in words for what he’s done in my life. How he’s grown and matured me as a person. How he’s prepared me as a man for my future and given me tools that I can use in all walks of my life. Steve Vick taught me that words such as Honesty, Honor, Loyalty, Respect, Passion, Patience and Love are so much more than words they are lifestyles; and it is these characteristics that he holds himself to as a man, husband, father, and leader of our state every day.

I pray you receive this as not only words, but as truth. We NEED this man representing us.
