ELECTION: Don't buy into Spencer
With the heated rhetoric increasing as the May 15 election gets closer, citizens need to be leery of falling for some of the unfounded accusations and innuendos being told by one candidate in particular. Larry Spencer has taken “dirty politics” to a whole new level for this county, and hopefully voters will see through his campaign of deception and fear mongering.
There are two candidates running against Spencer for Kootenai County Commissioner — Dan Green and Vic Holmes — both are highly qualified and either would represent the 3rd District well with a level of honesty, integrity, experience and trust that citizens should expect and demand. Spencer has targeted the incumbent Dan Green specifically to insult and misrepresent, possibly because he feels Dan Green is more of a threat to winning this seat.
Dan Green and Todd Tondee do NOT want to take away your right to vote as is headlined in Spencer’s recent ad; just the opposite! The controversial “parking proposal” and the ideas for changes in county government will be put before the voters to decide. And property rights for ALL property owners is one of Green’s most significant commitments.
I have spent much time in meetings, hearings and committees with Spencer. His reputation for misquoting facts, ignoring the truths and attacking those not agreeing with him is known by many. “Any means necessary” to get even or get his way — that is his history. Not one group, Republican or otherwise, has endorsed this man.
Get out and vote, but please do your due diligence to decide who among the choices would serve the community best. Base that decision on facts, not lies.
