Bertha M. South, 105

Bertha Mary South passed away peacefully on the morning of Tuesday, May 1, 2012, at Life Care Center of Coeur d’Alene. She was born on Oct. 11, 1906, in San Diego, Calif.

She moved from San Diego in 1978 to Post Falls. Bertha enjoyed sewing, knitting and crocheting.

She is survived by her five children, Frances, John, Carl, Jane and Mary. Her husband, Charles N. South and youngest son Earl. T. South preceded her in death.

Bertha portrayed a wonderful example as the matriarch of the Roman Catholic Faith in the South family. She has numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren to the fifth generation. She was 105 years old.

The family would like to thank all the helping hands at Life Care Center of Coeur d’Alene for all they have done these past years. Please keep her in your prayers always.

The Rosary will be held at 6 p.m. Monday, May 7, 2012, at Hazen & Jaeger Valley Funeral Home, 1306 N. Pines Road, Spokane. The funeral Mass will be held at 9 a.m. Tuesday, May 8, 2012, also at Hazen & Jaeger Valley Funeral Home in Spokane.
