SHERIFF: Ben yes, John Green no
John Green’s claim to fame as a sheriff’s candidate is that he is a constitutional law attorney (who has a penchant for defending tax protesters). Maybe he thought he was running for prosecutor, which requires a law degree.
Ben Wolfinger’s degree is in Law Enforcement — which is what a sheriff actually does. Mr. Green has never come close to running a sheriff’s office (he was defeated twice in his home county when he ran for sheriff), while Major Wolfinger has run every unit within our sheriff’s office.
Mr. Green has said that as a constitutional law attorney he could tell what laws are constitutional and should be enforced. I thought the Sheriff swears to, “…support the Constitution and Laws of the state of Idaho?” I thought the courts determined if a law is constitutional — like Obamacare? — isn’t that what’s called checks and balances? Apparently Mr. Green thinks he is above that!
