ULTRASOUND: A way to empower women

| March 30, 2012 9:00 PM

Senate Bill 1387, stats show when girls/women view an ultrasound the vast majority decide against abortion.

Why? There is only one explanation for this; they were unaware of the facts of fetal development otherwise viewing an ultrasound would not cause the majority of them to change their mind.

How can a pregnant girl or woman make an informed decision if she is not aware of the facts about the developmental state of her unborn baby? She can’t! The vast majority of girls and women who seek an abortion are coerced into doing so. This coercion is typically subtle but very powerful and comes from their partner, parents, family and socio-economic forces.

The girl/woman is in a very vulnerable state and she is then exploited and victimized by greedy and predatory abortionists. Abortionists routinely provide girls/women with as little information as possible and they often provide biased or misleading information. The girl/woman is coerced, exploited and victimized and then for years and in many cases a lifetime she suffers from grief, depression and/or Post Abortion Traumatic Stress Disorder (PaTSD).

From a consumer protection perspective it is evident and clearly justified that the state should pass into law this consumer protection legislation to empower and protect coerced and preyed upon girls/women. This legislation is not about restricting access to abortion. It’s about empowering girls and women with the empirical information they need so they can protect themselves from predatory abortionists.
