Andrew G. Drapeau, 67

| March 16, 2012 9:00 PM

Andy passed away Tuesday, March 13, 2012.

He was born April 26, 1944, to Elmer and Lienna Drapeau, in Spokane. He was the oldest of 14 children, growing up in Post Falls.

Andy met the love of his life Gerene Malar, or as he liked to call her “Babs” and they married in April 1965. They had three children, Corinna, Wade and Aaron.

His career included starting off as a “farmhand” at the Beck Farm in Post Falls. After that he worked a number of years at both Bunker Hill and Sunshine Mines, before moving on to the sawmill — Northwest Timber — where he retired from.

Andy loved anything outdoors, especially fishing (with Frank or Willy), hunting with his boys, gardening, taking drives to check-out wildlife, as well as watching his “westerns” over and over again.

Andy is survived by his children, Corinna (Rick Whiting) and Aaron (Julie) Drapeau of Post Falls; grandchildren, James, Garrett, Aaron “Todd” Jr., Kris, Tyler, Chad, Lexis, Charlie, Kirsten and Brandon; great-grand baby Ryan; sisters, Lois Stensland, Connie Alverson, Janice Rash, Rita Drapeau, Brenda Peterson and Gloria Marquez; brothers, Ed and Jesse Drapeau; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Proceeding him in death are his wife, Gerene and son Wade; as well as his parents.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, March 19, 2012, at English Funeral Chapel in Post Falls. Reception to follow at Andy’s house, 510 E. 21st, Post Falls.
