STABBING: What happened, Press?
Monday around 6 p.m., a stabbing incident took place near the Target store on Canfield Avenue. Much of the Coeur d’Alene Police Department, plus a large part of the Sheriff’s Department were involved, including the Sheriff’s Department helicopter and portions of Highway 95 were closed for some time. So much of the Coeur d’Alene Police Department was involved that a two-car accident on Fourth street, in front of Capone’s, took over a half an hour to have an officer come to investigate?
Yet Tuesday morning’s Coeur d’Alene Press did not have a single mention about the stabbing incident, anywhere in Section A, B or C. The “edition” was dedicated to results of the Ironman Race on Sunday.
It would appear as though Hagadone and Mayor Bloem determined that any mention of the stabbing incident would be detrimental, since many of the several thousand visitors here for the event are still in town!
