Summer Celebration at Schweitzer June 30

SANDPOINT - Schweitzer Mountain Resort comes alive for Summer Celebration on Saturday, June 30.

Free chairlift rides, live music, arts and crafts, and various vendors are just a portion of the festival highlights.

The Great Escape Quad will be running from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. for complimentary chairlift rides. The scenic ride takes guests to Schweitzer's 6,400-foot summit where views of Idaho, Washington, Montana and Canada can be enjoyed.

The barbecue aroma will fill the air while free live music by "The Collective" and "The Clumsy Lovers" will keep guest entertained from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on the village lawn.

"This is the best way to experience what summer is all about at Schweitzer," said Events Manager Brandon Peterson. "You can ride the lift and listen to great music, all for free."

In addition to the festival highlights, Schweitzer will be operating their new zip line, air jumper, climbing wall and sluice box. Guests can stop into the activity center to purchase a ticket for each of these activities or enjoy them all with a $35 Ultimate Fun Pass.

Schweitzer's cross country biking trails and lift accessed downhill trails are either buried in snow or still a bit soggy, and unfortunately, will not be open in time for the celebration. Equipment such as mountain bikes, skis, snowboards, etc., will not be permitted on the chairlift until further notice.

Schweitzer's summer season, which officially kicks off on Friday, June 29, will run daily from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. through Sept. 3.
