| June 22, 2012 9:00 PM

Margaret “Peggy” Ellen Colwell, 64, of Coeur d’Alene, passed to her rest on June 1, 2012.

Margaret was born to Chet and Shirley (Wendt) Colwell on Oct. 10, 1947. She grew up in Spokane, but resided in Coeur d’Alene for the past 16 years. While in college, she got a job with an interior decorating company where she found her niche. For the rest of her life, Margaret excelled in interior decorating and even established her own company, Cache Interior Design. Later in life and until her death, she rented out apartments for DLR Properties.

Margaret had a deep love for literature and old, classic movies, her favorite being “Gone with the Wind.” Decorating, cooking, politics and watching classic films were her main interests. She was a very independent woman with a big, bold personality and a strong faith. Margaret is dearly loved and dearly missed.

Margaret is survived by her aunt, Jacqueline Boles of Atlanta, Ga., and cousins: David, Patricia, Max, Dan and Sarah Boles of Atlanta; Fred, Robyn and PJ Olmsted of Bonners Ferry; and Daniel and Heather Moore of Lewiston. She is also survived by a nephew and niece: Chad and Kellie Richardson of Spokane.

Margaret is preceded in death by her parents, Chet and Shirley Colwell and her sister, Dianne Richardson of Spokane.

Thank you to the women who were there during Margaret’s last days — you know who you are and your support has been much appreciated.

A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, June 28, 2012, at St. Thomas, 919 E. Indiana St., Coeur d’Alene.
