BLM co-sponsors Watchable Wildlife day camps

COEUR d'ALENE - The Bureau of Land Management, Idaho Department Fish and Game and the U.S. Forest Service have partnered to offer three-day camp sessions by age group for area youth.

Camps will be held at the Watchable Wildlife Center at the Kootenai County Fairgrounds.

Space is limited for the camps to 20 participants per session, and registration closes on July 10. There is no cost for the day camps, which will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day. Sessions are as follows:

• July 17, 18 and 19 for youth ages 7 to 9 years old;

• July 30 through Aug. 3 for youth ages 11 to 13 years old; and

• Aug. 14 through Aug. 17 for youth ages 9 to 11.

Day camps will be staffed with representatives from the three agencies and include a variety of hands-on activities, including learning about wildlife habitats, handling live animals, fieldtrips and crafts.

Application forms are available in Coeur d'Alene at the BLM Coeur d'Alene District Office located at 3815 Schreiber Way or at the IDFG located at 2885 W. Kathleen.
