Nancy J. Thompson, 41

Nancy J. Thompson, 41, of Coeur d'Alene, passed away May 7, 2012 at the home of her sister after a courageous six year battle with salivary gland cancer.

Nancy was born July 8, 1970 in Silverton, OR, to Lloyd and Marlene Thompson. At two years of age, her family moved to Boise, ID, where she grew up and graduated from Borah High School in 1988. After graduating, Nancy moved to Seattle, WA to pursue life in this beautiful big city she always felt drawn to. She enjoyed working in the accounting departments of TCI Cable, Internap High Tech, Phillips Medical, and Who's Calling over a span of the next 19 years.

Nancy married Ryan Bateman on May 28, 1995 in Las Vegas. They divorced seven years later. In September of 2007, Nancy moved to Coeur d'Alene to be with family while fighting her battle with cancer. She worked for a time in the Human Resources Department at Mountain West bank in Coeur d'Alene.

Nancy was a sweet and caring person who always went out of her way to make you feel welcome in her home. She loved fashion, interior design, scrapbooking, and other crafting projects. After moving to Coeur d'Alene, Nancy enjoyed spending quality time with family playing cards, relaxing by the pool, and occasional trips to the casino to play her favorite "Cleopatra II" or "Lotus Flower" slot machine.

Nancy was preceded in death by her father, Lloyd Thompson; and her brother, Mike Thompson. She is survived by her mother, Marlene Thompson of Coeur d'Alene; brother, Lowell Thompson of Kellogg; sisters, Cathy Hair of Sun City, AZ, and Tracy Baker of Coeur d'Alene; her precious Chihuahua "Peanut"; two aunts; two uncles; and several cousins, nieces, and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, June 16th at the home of Tom and Tracy Baker.
