Join the club, help the chamber
There's no smarter way to launch the Coeur d'Alene Chamber of Commerce's second hundred years than by completely clearing the slate from the first hundred.
That's one key objective in creating the Legacy Club.
The Legacy Club is a collective of businesses and individuals who recognize the chamber's many accomplishments dating back to 1912. But during this centennial celebration, one of the reasons for looking back is to forge ahead.
The chamber took a huge leap forward with a new building at the downtown entryway of Lake Coeur d'Alene. As badly as the facility was needed, it was built just as the economy was crashing around it, and some of the debt from that project has persisted.
Understanding the difficulties of so many members battling back from the recession, the chamber has refused to raise its member rates to cover the debt. Instead, it's seeking donations through offerings like the Legacy Club.
For $100, your family, your business, your service club or other organization will be recognized in a permanent display inside the chamber building. That $100 will help the chamber retire its debt, so its focus can be fixed firmly on the future.
