Cd'A Chamber of Commerce announces new Legacy Club

| June 6, 2012 9:15 PM

COEUR d'ALENE - It's not often that organizations thrive for 100 years or invite the community to help celebrate their 100th birthday.

The Coeur d'Alene Chamber of Commerce is doing just that.

To honor the long history of the local business community and the volunteers that have enabled the chamber to be a noteworthy success, the chamber has launched a year-long celebration of its centennial birthday.

Community members and businesses can support the chamber by donating $100 to become a member of the newly-formed Legacy Club.

Legacy Club members will be listed on a permanent location in the chamber's building site.

Legacy Club membership and support will be used to help retire the chamber's building debt.

Donations will also ensure that the chamber is able to continue its mission of supporting the community through the services it provides to businesses and members.

"The strength of any community lies in its economy," said Katie Brodie, Centennial Committee member and special assistant to Gov. Butch Otter. "There's no better way to support a positive business community than to get involved and invest in the chamber of commerce. The Legacy Club is a great opportunity to do that."

Businesses and individuals interested in joining the Legacy Club can contact Ginger Dalvini at [email protected] or Legacy Club committee chairman Bill Carlson of Hagadone Directories, Inc. at [email protected].

The chamber is hoping to have Legacy Club members identified for the initial monument by June 30.

"The chamber provides avenues and services for businesses to network and thrive," said chamber President and CEO Steve Wilson. "But we also need the support of our community in order to ensure our organization's continued success. Our centennial celebration provides an excellent opportunity for current members and prospective members to get involved."
