OBAMA: Economy woes predate him

A lot of people are somehow blaming President Obama for our sluggish economy and lack of new jobs. They just refuse to look backward BEFORE he was president, in 2006 and 2007 when the real estate market was starting to take a dive. This was due to the failed efforts of the Bush administration when it decided to deregulate the banking and mortgage industries and then did nothing to stop the carnage.

A front page story in The Press, “County assessed value drops,” states the decline in values has been going on for at least five years, which means it started BEFORE Obama became president.

And the loss of jobs? Again, for eight Bush years, that administration did nothing to stop the outflow of companies moving overseas and taking millions of jobs with them. That kind of damage cannot be fixed or reversed in only a couple of years.

We all need to write and talk with our congressmen to find ways and incentives for bringing those companies and jobs back to the USA.
