June Grace Ries, 90

| July 26, 2012 9:00 PM

Died July 17, 2012, at the Hospice House of North Idaho with her son Bob and daughter Nancy at her side. June was born June 25, 1922, in Queens, N.Y.

June is preceded in death by her parents, Joesph and Grace Faint; her brother, Robert; and her husband, Ralph.

Her family moved to California when she was only 1, where her father worked in the Motion Picture business. She later met Ralph Ries and they were married on June 27, 1943, and were happily married for 68 years until Ralph’s passing on Jan. 3, 2011. June and Ralph moved to North Idaho after Ralph retired from the Motion Picture business in 1973. June was active in many charities and was one of the founding members of the 3Cs.

She was an avid quilter, an expert seamstress, an excellent gourmet cook and an accomplished artist; her off paintings hang on many of the walls of homes in North Idaho.

June is survived by her son, Bob (wife Betsy); daughter Nancy (husband Bill Carlson); brother Donald and sister-in-law Nanette Faint of Camerello, Calif.; grandsons, Ryan Ries (wife Casey), Phil Carlson (wife Angela) and Tim Carlson; granddaughter McKenzie Carlson; great-grandson Elliot Ries and great-granddaughter Eva Ries.

The family is extremely grateful for the amazing care and hospitality given by the Hospice of North Idaho, as well as their care center, the Hospice House. Another thanks is giving to Bell Tower Funeral Home for their services and arrangements.

The family will be holding a private memorial service honoring her and her late husband’s wonderful and accomplished lives together. Please sign June’s guest registry at www.belltowerfuneralhome.com.
