Scott Matthew Wemple, 56
Scott Wemple, 56, of Hayden, passed away July 15, 2012, following a tragic accident. Scott was born in Chester, N.J., on Sept. 16, 1955, to Patrick and Caroline Wemple.
Scott graduated from West Morris Central High in 1973. Following high school, Scott worked with his father in the plumbing business and later became the Chief of the Chester, New Jersey Volunteer Fire Department. On Aug. 21, 1982, he married the love of his life Donna Pewitt.
In 1982, Scott and Donna relocated to Hayden. Scott became a Master Plumber and later started his own successful plumbing business. On April 18, 1986, Scott and Donna welcomed their son Jeremy and four years later on Jan. 22, 1990, Amanda completed their family.
Scott was an avid golfer and was a proud member of Avondale Golf Club where he served on the Board of Directors and many committees. One of Scott’s most recent and prideful accomplishments was completing the newly designed bar and restaurant at Avondale. As one last gift, Scott was found to be a perfect kidney match for Ben, a friend of his son Jeremy, who received his kidney on July 16, 2012, in a successful transplant carried out at U.W. Medical Hospital in Seattle.
Scott will always be remembered for his infectious smile and laugh, his boisterous voice and unrelenting kindness to all who met him. Most of all, Scott was a devoted husband, amazing father, brother and friend.
Scott is survived by his wife of 30 years, Donna; son Jeremy Wemple of Seattle; daughter Amanda Wemple at home; sister Patsy and husband Lee Migliaccio of Chester, N.J.; sister Ann Wemple Reece and husband Jeff Reece of Apex, N.C.; nephews, Patrick and wife Kellie Migliaccio of Hillsborough, N.J., and Nicholas and wife Mary Migliaccio of Hackettstown, N.J. He was preceded in death by his parents.
A celebration of life will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 19, 2012, at St. Pius X Catholic Church, Coeur d’Alene, followed by a reception at Avondale Golf Club. The family requests that all those who wish to attend the celebration and reception, please wear your favorite Tommy Bahama or Hawaiian shirt. Yates Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements.
The family wishes to express their deep gratitude and thanks to the doctors, nurses and staff at Kootenai Medical Center, specifically Dr. Jeff Larsen and the ICU nurses.
