PARADE: A dud on bucket brigade

We watched the Fourth of July parade on Sherman and the bucket brigade came by requesting donations to the Fireworks Fund.

I gave my granddaughter some money and my daughter also put some in the bucket. The “clown” who took the money looked down into the bucket and said with disdain, “That won’t buy much — maybe a little ‘pop.’”

Some of us reach deep into our pockets for dollars. We felt we were supporting the fund. This is the thanks we get?
