ECONOMY: Just connect the dots
Tom Bassler’s letter referencing Cheryl Stransky’s campaign announcement raises the issue of Ground Force, a mining equipment manufacturer in Post Falls, and the forces that come into play to “create jobs.”
Ground Force needs to have several “forces” come together in order to be a functioning business. The principles in this business relationship are owner(s), employee(s) and customers. Successful business depends on the financial and physical health of all three of these groups, not just ownership.
The health of these relationships ultimately determines the health of the business. Ground Force also requires some other things that we don’t always think about. They need a qualified workforce and a means to communicate and transport goods and services. We cannot lose our ability to connect these simplest of dots.
When the people recognize the need to balance the health of all parties involved in business relationships, we will get an economy that works for all of us: the owners, the workers and the customers.
