Jahan Ashtiani, 48
Jahan Ashtiani lives in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. He passed away on June 28, 2012, in Moose Creek, Lowell, Idaho. He was born on June 26, 1964 in Santa Barbara, Calif., to Kathleen and Jahangir Jamali.
Jahan grew up mostly in the San Fernando Valley which is just outside of Los Angeles. He met Christina Warden in 1992 and they were married on August 17, 1996, on a beach in Malibu, Calif. They have lived many places but settled down in Coeur d’Alene to raise their three children, Jaguar, Tiger, and Savannah.
Jahan’s two boys, Jaguar and Tiger are involved in Boy Scouts, therefore Jahan became very active as a volunteer in Troop 202. He enjoyed going on backpacking trips with the troop and helping out wherever he could.
Jahan enjoyed many activities while living here in Idaho such as Snow mobiling, skiing, hiking, piloting his own plane, camping in the fifth wheel with the family and floating down the St. Joe and Coeur d’Alene rivers. Within the last three years he became hooked on fly fishing and even started tying his own flies. Fly fishing became one of his most treasured passions. His ability to fly his own plane allowed him to land on dirt airstrips and fly fish in remote locations. To Jahan, this was a perfect day.
He is survived by his wife, Christina Ashtiani, his three children, Jaguar, Tiger and Savannah as well as his sister, Sorayeh Jamali and his step-father, Benjamin Goldman both from Quartz Hill, Calif. Jahan is also leaving behind many close and beloved friends. He will forever be missed but not forgotten.
Memorial services will be 11 a.m., Tuesday, July 17, 2012 at Yates Funeral Home, Coeur d’Alene Chapel.
