OUCH: Accident could've been worse
We would like to thank those individuals that stepped up to help our 12-year-old son who had a bicycle accident on the way to his tennis lesson this past week. While riding his bike near the Ramsey and Hanley intersection, Andy caught his front tire between the sidewalk and swale and took a head dive onto the cement. He has multiple scrapes on his arms and legs but thankfully he was wearing his helmet, which took most of the impact and it has the marks to show for it.
A wonderful woman in a silver truck stopped to assist him get up and make sure he was OK. Andy told us he didn’t think he could have gotten up by himself without her gentle assistance. And to help even further, his tennis coach Neal then gave Andy a ride home after a shortened and sore practice. He is doing great now but we are so thankful we live in a community of caring individuals who will take the time to help someone in need. We also shudder to think of a much worse outcome had Andy not been wearing his helmet properly. Thank you so much to Coach Neal and the wonderful woman in the gray truck.
