HEALTH: Letter worries retirees

| July 4, 2012 9:15 PM

Thousands of GTE/Verizon/BellAtlantic/Idearc and Supermedia retirees received a USPS registered letter recently advising them that as of Sept 1, 2012 their healthcare coverage monthly fees would be going up by several hundred dollars and again in Jan. of 2013 and that all retiree health care coverage would be totally discontinued as of Jan. 2014. A class action suit has been filed against this punitive action. So your local supermedia advertising could be helping fund this action against thousands of retirees. Many have their back against the wall as result of the economy. It is estimated the retirees for the different companies are to be in the hundreds of thousands.
