MORMONS: Good folks, false doctrine
I would like to clear up a few things about Mormons. Carol Sorenson and Larry Barnes are both right in what they wrote, however they are wrong about the whole of the context.
Mormons call themselves Christians, and I have no doubt they believe this. However, Jesus himself warned against false doctrine. He stated that if anyone came to them and preached a different message to not believe it - even if from an angel of light. Moroni was one of these angels of light preaching a different doctrine (now known as the Book of Mormon).
Also the last sentence in the last book of the Bible (the revelation of John) warns against adding ANYTHING to the Bible (add Book of Mormon and tenets and faith here). So if you claim to be a Christian, then one should listen to the words of Jesus. And the whole Mormon faith is based on a lie, and false doctrine. I'm not saying Mormons aren't saved (in fact I believe that many of them are - it's not up to me to judge). However, the Mormon faith does not hold up to the Christian beliefs because they claim to believe in Jesus but they don't listen to him or follow what he says.
