GINGRICH: A faithful leader?

| January 25, 2012 9:00 PM

I had just turned the page of a Colin Dexter novel, this evening, when I overheard the second Mrs. Gingrich tell the TV interviewer that, after cheating on her for several years, Newton Leroy desired an "open marriage." So, what else is new in the world of politics? I thought to myself.

Returning to my reading, I was somewhat taken aback to see the Solemnization of Matrimony from the Book of Common Prayer quoted as a preface to chapter 26: "Wilt thou have this Woman to thy wedded wife, to live together after God's ordinance in the holy estate of Matrimony? Wilt thou love her in sickness and health; and, forsaking all other, keep thee only unto her, so long as ye both shall live?"

When Newton Leroy Gingrich places his hand on the Holy Bible and repeats the words of the Oath of Office of the President of the United States of America, will he be faithful to the People of this great nation? Or, will he betray us, also?
