HAYDEN: Lowery still very involved
I was very sad to see this paragraph: "The City Council had scheduled a presentation to recognize Lowery's service, but she asked that the item be removed from Tuesday night's agenda because she would be unavailable to attend." Without any opportunity to comment as to why I was unable to attend. I sent an email to the City Council, City Attorney, City Staff, and to David Cole, who wrote the article in Wednesday's Press, thanking all for the "sentiment and wishing all well" in the city of Hayden.
I certainly appreciate Mayor McIntire's quoted comments. I had a personal meeting with him on Friday to discuss my further involvement in the city. I not only plan to continue my activity in the city, but am still very involved. I am currently president of The Omi Foundation, which puts on the Hayden Triathlon; past president of the Hayden chamber, where I am actively planning the Hayden Music Festival and many other events for this year; and president of the North Idaho Housing Coalition, which was just highlighted in Monday's Coeur d'Alene Press.
While I was very disappointed to lose my hard fought race to Mayor McIntire, which also meant vacating my Hayden council seat, I in no way hold any malice or ill will toward him, city staff or anyone involved in the city. I discussed future opportunities with Mayor McIntire to continue to serve the city and I look forward to any appointment he may chose to make for me. Please stay tuned as I truly love every experience and opportunity I have to participate in making a positive difference in Hayden.
