GOP: Attack at own peril
It seems Chad Solsvik's spin attack on the GOP contradicts some basic facts.
He blames the GOP for the financial problems of the Postal Service, and claims the service reaps billions in profits. In reality, the Postal Service stopped turning profits in the mid-90s. In the late ‘90s they borrowed another $6 billion from taxpayer funds on top of the $15 billion they already owed and had never repaid. Although they claimed to have had a bad year, it didn't stop them from giving bonuses to every supervisor and manager to the tune of more than $400 million for leadership that lost money.
Postal management has its own union which controls all aspects of postal contracts and finances, and runs the service in a manner that makes the mafia green with envy.
Another fallacy of spin blames Bush for the Wall Street bailouts when a Demo controlled Congress wrote it, and Bush signed due to the request of the president-elect. The funds were passed out by the Demo controlled Congress and White House.
It seems the claims that all wealthy people are Republicans only works with uninformed and rabid lefties, as the greatest amounts of donations in the last elections from Wall Street went to Demo candidates. While having complete control of Congress and the White House, we heard complaints of the rich not paying enough, but nothing was written or passed except stimulus/bailout money to unions and large contributors to the party. The taxpayer funds to Freddie and Fannie also covered the contributions they made to Dodd and Frank for staving off any oversight investigations.
With the occupiers several blocks away, we have Obama doing Wall Street fundraisers to raise his billion-dollar campaign for re-election.
It's ludicrous to state the legacy of debt from the past years is due to the GOP, when the Demos were in the controlling majority. The voting suppression was clearly shown on film, but those with the nightsticks weren't keeping your voters away.
I can understand why lefty liberals hate Fox News for showing both sides of issues that show the liberal hypocrisy that exposes ignorance they don't believe the public should know about. They want to control what the public knows, and muzzle anything contrary to their agenda.
