VOTING: Require proof of ID

| January 4, 2012 9:00 PM

All the poor, disenfranchised people who obtain state or federal aid (welfare etc.) are required to prove their identity, and this, according to the information given by the Health and Welfare Department, is usually a driver's license. It wouldn't seem unreasonable to require these same people - or all people for that matter - to show proof of their identity before being allowed to vote.

Eric Holder had no objections to Black Panthers wearing jack boots and brandishing night sticks and intimidating voters at poling places, but he objects to requiring voters to show ID. There's obviously something wrong with this attorney general's ability to assess priorities and decide when some form of legal intervention is required.
