Robert Beck, 83

Robert "Bob" Merle Beck, 83, of Post Falls, passed away Dec. 29, 2011. Bob was born Oct. 17, 1928, in Ramsey, Ill., to Basil E. and Ida Mae (Duvall) Beck.

Bob married his soulmate of 63 years, Anne, in Rochelle, Ill., on Dec. 24, 1948. They had seven children together and resided the majority of their lives in Riverside, Calif. They moved to Post Falls seven years ago.

Bob was a true handyman, there was not a thing he couldn't fix. He was very mechanically inclined, and enjoyed opportunities to serve. As an usher at St. George's Catholic Church, his Sunday's involved greeting parishioners and counting tithes. Service was a big part of his life, especially the times he had to serve his own family. He was looked up to by all of his children and grandchildren. His love and dedication will never be forgotten, but carried on.

Bob is survived by his wife, Anne and their five daughters, Shirley D'Elia, Post Falls; Patricia and Greg Marson, Hemet, Calif.; Lisa and Rick Cox, Cherry Valley, Calif; Kathie and Craig Stevenson, Lithia, Fla.; and Carolyn and Cliff Boyer, Grand Terrace, Calif.

He is preceded in death by his two sons, Michael and Steve, whom he is now reunited with.

Funeral services will take place in Riverside, Calif. Bell Tower Funeral Home, Post Falls, is in care of the arrangements locally.
