Our family's resolution: Part 1

Like most families, the Clarks never considered the possibility that they might have to look into home care. Connie and David were both retired after 30-year careers, Angela (their daughter) was taking care of her own family as an Army wife and Joe (their son) was enlisted in the Navy. Then, on a day that started out like any other, Connie received a phone call that would change their lives and the way they thought about home care, forever.

Savilla (Connie's mother), who was 83 years old at the time, had taken a nasty spill at an airport while on vacation. She frantically called Connie to tell her what happened while Joe (Connie's father) flagged emergency responders. She broke her hip and could not get up. The doctor said she was not able to fly home until after major surgery. The Clark's had never been through anything like this before and had no idea what to expect. The ensuing weeks were filled with phone calls to family, doctors, Medivac companies and hospital personnel. Eventually, Savilla had surgery and was ready to come home and get back to normal. However, "normal" was further away than they could have imagined.
