Police respond to shooting in Caldwell

| January 3, 2012 8:00 PM

BOISE (AP) - Authorities say police responded to gunfire at a Caldwell home.

The Idaho Statesman reports that an occupant of the home fired a gun early Sunday after a fistfight in the residence.

Caldwell police say there were no injured people at the home at the time. But about 40 minutes after the shooting, a 30-year-old man with a gunshot wound to the chest arrived at West Valley Medical Center in Caldwell.

Authorities could not say whether the man was at the home where the gunfire was reported, or whether he was a victim in a separate shooting.

Police said detectives were not able to interview the victim until Monday at the earliest, and that no further information will be released until today.
