MACK: It'll be worth the $50

In response to the Lincoln Day speaker Sheriff Mack, I am not surprised at the people who are in protest of the speaker. The Lincoln Day committee sign-up sheet always comes around for them to sign, which is who picks a speaker each year. If they had signed up to be on the committee they could have been part of the process of picking the speaker. They all know this and I believe it is a publicity stunt, just to disrupt the Republican Party fundraiser.

Some of these folks protested Lincoln Day last year by not participating at all, what were they upset about then? Not only that, but six of these people voted publicly at a Central Committee meeting not to support the Republican Party candidates through the primary process, which can be found in the Oct. 26, 2010, minutes of Kootenai County Republican Central Committee meeting. My question is, why are they in the Republican Party if they are not going to support the Republican candidates? Really! Should they be the ones deciding who is Republican enough?

I am sorry they are unhappy, but it is hard to make everyone happy all the time. Now about Sheriff Mack, I have heard him speak before and am very happy to hear him again. He is an excellent speaker and a true conservative American. I also have read his book, “County Sheriff America’s last hope,” and highly recommend it to everyone to read.

I hope you will attend our Republican Party Lincoln Day Dinner which is on Saturday, March 24. Tickets are $50 a person and will be held at The Coeur d’Alene Resort, a very good dinner will be served and lots of great entertainment. Governor Otter will be there along with many of our elected officials, whom you should come out and get to know. This will be a great event and you will love our speaker Sheriff Mack. You will also be helping to get and keep good people in office by supporting our only fundraiser of the year.
