COLUMN: Fine example for Idaho
The article written by Justin StormoGipson in the “My turn” section of your newspaper was forwarded to me by my sister who lives in Coeur d’Alene. It was in response to presidential hopeful Rick Santorum’s absolute knowledge of when life begins. I feel compelled to respond simply because I was so impressed by Dr. StormoGipson’s soft spoken voice of reason.
Your community is extremely lucky to have a person who understands that others may not agree with him, and openly respects their right to do so, yet is able to articulate his opinion so clearly and simply that it cannot be ignored.
We should be very fearful of those who feel the need to dictate what is right for everyone. Justin StormoGipson and Mark Twain are my new heroes. What a wonderful example he is setting for the citizens of Idaho, and the rest of us in the United States who still have so far to go.
