TRAVEL: Rules don't make sense

Just laying out a question for my fellow readers to ponder:

Why do we still have to take our shoes off, only carry small carry-on bottles of personal products, get X-rayed and groped, and have to show a passport just to fly to a neighboring country (e.g. Canada), when we read this breaking news on the Internet:

"Napolitano Gives Muslim Brotherhood U.S. Security Clearance. Ignores Terrorism"

I suppose the government knows what's best for us! And, why are our kids are fighting in foreign countries when we open the door for terrorists to infiltrate our country and become government employees (some with high security clearances)? Just askin'...
