FREEDOM: Applies to all Americans

I must respond to many recent letters to the editor in the Opinions section regarding same-sex marriages or homosexuality.

I am so very tired of the "Holier than though" mentality of many of your readers. The Revolutionary War many gave up their lives for, was for freedom, freedom from persecution for ALL! Not just the ones called Christian.

America gives each of us the right of religion without persecution (ha). Our society unfortunately thinks that only the Christian belief should be upheld in the United States, which goes against what the Constitution stands for. Remember the Constitution says Freedom for all, not Freedom for Christians.

I prefer to judge individuals on who they are as a person, with honesty, integrity and as hard workers, not whom they sleep with or what church they attend or don't attend or if they are Democrats or Republicans.

I believe in Freedom.
