McEUEN: Perfect fit for a carousel

| February 19, 2012 8:00 PM

I am all for the future park that is being planned at McEuen Field. I do have one (I think) very important addition that I feel is a must for our city. We now have possession of the antique carousel that used to be near Higgins Point. It needs a piece of ground to build a building on to house it.

I understand from those on that committee that they plan events, gift shop, maybe snack bar, etc., inside the building such as Spokane has. This piece of equipment should not be placed away from the tourist area and/or downtown Coeur d'Alene. It will bring revenue to the city and many children to the park if it were to be there. What are parks for? If not for children. I have been told that the City Council is closed minded when it comes to considering this important, beautiful, fun antique. We need it incorporated into McEuen Field. PLEASE!
