'State of the Lake' set for Feb. 22

PONDERAY - The Lake Pend Oreille Fishery Recovery Task Force and Idaho Department of Fish and Game will hold the annual "state of lake" update on Wednesday, Feb. 22.

The meeting starts at 6 p.m. at the Ponderay Events Center near the Bonner Mall.

The meeting will cover fish populations and potential rule changes for 2013. Mike Hansen, a world-renowned lake trout expert will be a featured speaker.

There will also be presentations on summarizing the 2011 predator removal efforts, the angler incentive program and the fishery's response to recovery efforts. A question-and-answer session will follow the presentations.
