SCHOOLS: Penalize the guilty parties

| February 15, 2012 9:00 PM

I would like to congratulate School District 271 board members Tom Hamilton and Terri Seymour for their work in overturning the appointment of Wanda Quinn. The manner in which the appointment of Quinn was made was not lawful by Idaho state law according to Judge Michael J. Griffin.

Our superintendent, Hazel Bauman stated to The Press that "Quinn will step down immediately." Now that's great! The wrong has been corrected! Now we will do it the correct and lawful way! You could almost hear the "aww shucks, you guys caught us, no harm no foul." But is that really true? A state law was broken!

Now I really don't know if all "laws" have some type of penalty attached when you violate one. I do know that most laws the average Joe on the street violates usually have some form of penalty. So why no fine or penalty against those that participated in this unlawful action? Let me think, the main name that comes to mind is Eddie Brooks, now Eddie Brooks McLachlan (is she entering the witness protection program and changing her name now?). Seems like she is the main one but I'm sure their were others involved.

Wow, new thought: If two or more people conspire to commit a crime is that not a conspiracy? All joking aside, I am sure that this legal action to set things right had costs associated with it. The least that should happen is that those costs be paid by the parties that caused this action to be initiated.
