CITY: Service goes above and beyond

Government has such a horrible reputation as being unresponsive and inept but the Coeur d'Alene water department proved those adjectives do not apply to their department. 

On Saturday, Feb. 4, at 11 p.m. I placed a call to our water department, never expecting to contact anyone. To my surprise a person answered the phone and was at my house within 15 minutes. The whole floor was vibrating in the house as well as wild noises coming from all corners of the house. It was midnight before the city worker left and his concern for the welfare of his citizens was obvious.

Early Sunday morning a crew arrived and dug up the street and promptly fixed the problem. They also demonstrated concern about getting this job done correctly and swiftly.

City of Coeur d'Alene, you blew my socks off.
