Virginia Joan Kempton, 76

Virginia Joan Kempton, passed away Dec. 21, 2012. Born in Chicago, Ill., on Aug. 17, 1936, to Alva and Irma Dobbs.

Virginia graduated from Parker High School in Chicago and later earned her bachelor’s degree in business administration from Florida Southern College. She lived in Apopka, Fla., for 38 years and for much of that time worked as a classification management specialist for Martin Marietta while raising three boys as a single mom.

For the past six and a half years Virginia has called Post Falls her home where she enjoyed meeting with her friends at the Post Falls Senior Center and the North Idaho Mineral Club.

She is survived by her sons, Michael (Kelley) of Post Falls, Kevin (Paula) of Yorktown, Va., and Brian (Lori) of Post Falls; eight grandchildren, Jordan, Benjamin, Shannon, Liam, Erin, Harrison, Byrcen and Zoe; as well as niece Debbie Granko and nephew Steven Sulkowski of Frankfort, Ill., children of her late beloved only sister and best friend, Susan.
