BUSING: Speak up against privatizing

| December 28, 2012 8:00 PM

The school district and school board are pushing hard to go to private contract busing. They are not being up front with the public and are not showing the whole picture to the parents and taxpayers. The decision will be made soon to replace our bus team with people from out of state and city. They do not have a good plan except to save money for a short time. Once the buses are sold and drivers replaced, we cannot go back to the service you have at this time.

SAFETY and SERVICE is our first priority for taking your children to and from school and events. They have an excellent record of safety, low bus expenses and dependability. They have bus drivers who have been pastors, policemen, firemen, teachers and electricians, just to list a few of the honorable jobs and now doing a dependable service for you. These are men and women who have experience and integrity. They have many hundreds of hours of the best training available. Regardless of the hazards of bad roads, long hours, etc., they are here for you.

Please, stand up. Make phone calls, emails, texts and write letters to the editor. Talk to your friends at church, etc. Also go to the PTA meetings, the school board meeting Jan. 7 and voice your feelings. Do this as soon as possible.

Speak up before it is too late. I am a father and grandfather and appreciate this fine service.
