SHOOTERS: We need good laws
Bravo Gary for your letter in Sunday’s Press re: Shooters: Turn the tables on them. I would like to add that laws have to be changed so that they don’t allow the criminal to determine the “rules of engagement.”
There are a lot of “feel good” laws enacted which do little to protect citizens but enrich lawyers’ wallets and sound good. It is time to enact laws to better allow a private citizen to defend his or her self from the criminal element.
The Second Amendment was placed in the Constitution so that people could have the tools to defend themselves against an element which does not have any rules or guidelines. The “wusses” that design our rules of fair play slant the justice in them in favor of the offender. I only wish we had decisive people in office who could supply the needs of honest people against the “bad guys.”
Good letter, Gary. There are a lot of us with you.
