WINTON: Proud of veteran program

The recent tribute to veterans at Winton Elementary School was a very special event. The children were so obviously aware of the importance of honoring the vets. The program honored, it entertained and it taught. The students presented the history of the Pearl Harbor attack, told the history of each section of the armed services, and related true stories of local vets that cemented the lessons of this occasion.

This exceptional program demonstrated the importance of the arts in the classrooms. The music, drama, dance and graphic arts created lasting and long-term learning.

Congratulations to director Nancy Mueller, Principal Williams, the Winton staff and especially the students. Veterans, thank you for your service and inspiration to the youth.
