Pamela Faye Houston, 60

| December 13, 2012 8:00 PM

Pamela Faye Houston, born March 1, 1952, in Long Beach, Calif., went to be with the Lord on Dec. 11, 2012.

Pam is preceded in death by her father, Wayne Rankin; her mother, Virginia “Toots” Crisp; and her sister, Susan Burnam. She is survived by her twin brother, Rob Rankin of Hattisburg, Miss.; son Jason Slinger of Oldtown and nephew Ryan Burnam. Pam also has a grandson, Hunter; a step-granddaughter, Alyssa and a great-granddaughter, Liley.

Pamela loved to sing and started her singing career early in her life. Her dream came true when she made it to Nashville, Tenn., and completed two CDs, working with the same person responsible for recording Elvis Presley and Gilles Godard. Pam moved back to Idaho in 2001 to live with her son. She then met Karen Garrison in 2004 who was her guardian angel and best friend. Pamela moved to Karen’s property in 2004, where Karen cared for her with the greatest love anyone could ever ask for until her time here on Earth had passed.

Pam always lived life to its fullest, with humor and love. Her mission was to always make everyone’s life better through her kindness and peaceful nature. Everyone who met her was forever changed, enjoyed her way of life and smiled just being around her.

Pamela will eternally be singing with the angels and we will meet her again in Heaven.

A celebration of Pamela’s life will be held at 6 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 15, 2012, at the Cocolalla Cowboy Church, 4281 Cocolalla Loop Road, Cocolalla, (208) 263-4388.

Sherman-Knapp Funeral Home, Newport, Wash., is in charge of the arrangements. Family and friends are invited to sign the online guest book at sherman-knapp.com.
