Annual passes available for BLM boat launches

COEUR d'ALENE - Annual passes to two of the Bureau of Land Management's popular boat launches on Lake Coeur d'Alene are on sale for the 2013 season.

Passes can be purchased at the Coeur d'Alene District Office, 3815 Schreiber Way, just off Kathleen Avenue in Coeur d'Alene.

One pass covers both facilities and costs $40. Daily rates are $6. Passes are effective Jan. 1 and expire on Dec. 31.

Blackwell Island boat launch typically opens just before Memorial Day depending upon lake levels and closes in mid-October. Blackwell Island offers four launch lanes, 130 vehicle-with-trailer parking spaces and 34 single vehicle parking spaces.

Mineral Ridge boat launch is a smaller facility offering 12 parking spaces for vehicles-with-trailers and is open year-round.
