Jonathan (Jonny) David Suhr, 23
Jonathan (Jonny) David Suhr was born on May 15, 1989, and was welcomed by his parents, Dan and Deanne and his two older brothers, Josh and Nate. Four years later he became a big brother himself when his sister, Kady, was born.
Jonny was energetic and outgoing. He loved to communicate and was not afraid to challenge people’s statements or beliefs. If you could keep from getting riled up by him, you often learned a lot, both about Jonny, and about yourself. He didn’t like change; not because he wanted everything to be static, but because he always wanted to add to his world and not subtract. He was always looking for ways to add challenges, experiences, ideas and friends, and never lose any of the past.
Jonny lived passionately and participated in soccer, was an Eagle Scout, attended Coeur d’Alene Charter Academy, and graduated from Lakeland High School. He always loved a challenge and showed it recently by completing two Tough Mudder obstacle courses. He loved being an uncle, camping, hiking, jumping off Tubbs Hill, movies, music, long boarding and was always quick with a smile or a joke. In short, Jonny loved life, and measured his success in the amount of happiness he brought to those around him.
For a little more than a year, he was developing another passion: he worked as an apprentice lineman building power lines in the Texas panhandle. His best days were the ones when got to fly under the helicopter. Jonny died on Nov. 27, 2012, doing what he loved. His family and friends love and miss him and are grateful for his big personality and how he touched our hearts.
The celebration of Jonny’s life will be held at 4 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 13, 2012, at the Friends/Anthem Church on Miles Avenue in Hayden. Please visit Jonny’s memorial and sign his online guest book at www.yatesfuneralhomes.com.
