CLIFF: It's your move, GOP

| December 2, 2012 8:00 PM

Common sense tells us that the decision to create more jobs does not depend on whether the individual top tax bracket is increased back to 39.6 percent.

Where are the jobs that Bush’s “temporary” tax cuts in 2001 were supposed to have created? Because of Bush’s misguided wars and Wall Street policies, millions of jobs were permanently destroyed.

Since Republicans are so concerned about the tax burden of “small business owners” it should be pointed out that 95 percent of small business owners do not make more than $250,000 a year.

Job creation does not depend on whether the top tax rate is raised back from 35 percent to 39.6 percent, but rather, whether there is a demand for the product to be produced. The 99 percent of us will have to generate that demand, not the top 1 percent.

Therefore, Republicans should break this stupid Norquist tax pledge and move the country back from the “fiscal cliff.”

If this Norquist does not like to pay his fair share of taxes he might want to consider to move to a tax heaven like the Cayman Islands, the favorite place to deposit profits earned in the USA. Remember Romney.
