Emily Louise (Downs) Silva, 80

Emily Louise (Downs) Silva, 80, passed away at Life Care Center in Coeur d’Alene on April 6, 2012.

Emily was born in Bisbee, Ariz., on July 11, 1931, to Sam and Emily Downs. She married William A. Silva on March 16, 1951, in Hawthorne, Nev. They moved to North Idaho in 1989.

Emily worked as a bookkeeper for many different businesses, including the family business.

She enjoyed jigsaw puzzles, drawing, painting and playing the piano. She was also an excellent woodcarver, who created many beautiful pieces.

She is survived by her husband, William A. Silva of Coeur d’Alene; three sons, Samuel W. Silva, Earnest L. Silva and Timothy J. Silva; six grandchildren, Dustin, Matthew, Cristie, Amber, Desaray and Bree; five great-grandchildren, Kenzie, Aden, Kayla, Dylan and Charlotte; and her sister, Nancy Funch.

Emily was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Sam Downs Jr.

Memorials may be made to Emily’s husband, William A. Silva, at Life Care Center in Coeur d’Alene.
